DasData ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Q-Assist service and related websites including pay.dasdata.co.za. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.
Information We Collect
When you subscribe to Q-Assist or interact with our payment pages, we may collect:
- Contact information (email address, name) provided during registration or payment
- Payment and billing information processed through PayFast
- Usage data related to your use of our services
- Technical data such as IP address and browser type
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process your subscription and payments
- Provide and maintain the Q-Assist service
- Send you service-related communications
- Improve our services and user experience
- Comply with legal obligations
Payment Processing
Payments are processed by PayFast (Pty) Ltd. We do not store your full card details. PayFast handles payment data in accordance with their own privacy policy and PCI DSS requirements.
Data Storage and Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Responsible Party
DasData is the responsible party (operator) for the processing of your personal information in connection with Q-Assist and our payment pages. We determine the purpose and means of processing your data.
Your Rights Under POPIA
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), you have the right to:
- Be notified when your personal information is collected (Section 18) or when it has been accessed by an unauthorised person (Section 22)
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you (Section 23)
- Request correction, deletion, or destruction of your personal information (Section 24)
- Object to the processing of your personal information, including for direct marketing (Section 11)
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (Section 74)
How to Exercise Your Rights
All requests must be sent in writing to our Information Officer. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by POPIA.
1. Request Access to Your Personal Information
To request a record or description of the personal information we hold about you:
- Email info@dasdata.co.za with the subject line "POPIA Access Request"
- Provide adequate proof of your identity (e.g. certified ID copy, or verification we can match to our records)
- Specify what information you are requesting access to
We will provide the information in a generally understandable form, in a reasonable manner and format, and may charge a prescribed fee if applicable. We will advise you of any fee before proceeding.
2. Request Correction of Your Personal Information
If your personal information is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading, or unlawfully obtained, you may request correction:
- Email info@dasdata.co.za with the subject line "POPIA Correction Request"
- Provide adequate proof of your identity
- Specify which information is incorrect and what the correct information should be
- Provide any supporting documentation if relevant
We will correct the information as soon as reasonably practicable, or provide credible evidence supporting the information, or attach an indication that a correction was requested but not made if we cannot reach agreement.
3. Request Deletion or Destruction of Your Personal Information
You may request that we delete or destroy your personal information where we are no longer authorised to retain it, or where it is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading, or unlawfully obtained:
- Email info@dasdata.co.za with the subject line "POPIA Deletion Request"
- Provide adequate proof of your identity
- Specify which information you want deleted and the reason
We will destroy or delete the information in a manner that prevents its reconstruction in an intelligible form, as soon as reasonably practicable. Note: we may be required to retain certain information for legal, regulatory, or contractual reasons (e.g. tax records, payment history). We will inform you if any information cannot be deleted and the reason.
4. Object to Processing
You may object to the processing of your personal information on reasonable grounds, or at any time for purposes of direct marketing:
- Email info@dasdata.co.za with the subject line "POPIA Objection"
- Provide adequate proof of your identity
- State the grounds for your objection
5. Lodge a Complaint with the Information Regulator
If you believe we have interfered with the protection of your personal information, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator:
